With a perfect compliment of searing soulful guitar and vocals by husband wife duo, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, lead their large band to some of the best music being played today. You’d be forgiven (unfortunately) for not knowing who they are. I myself only know of them because of my endless hours watching guitar YouTube. It’s been five or so years since the band has come into my life, and they haven’t left since.
Tedeschi, who fronts the band, and who herself is no slouch on the guitar. Though it’s her voice that pulls you in. With both power and grace her vocals are the entry way into the sonic journey that is the entire band.
One could argue that Trucks is the greatest guitar player today, if not ever. Once you start listening to TTB you will soon be able to pick out his playing without seeing if it’s actually him.
Recorded at their own studio, the band quarantined together to bring fourth the FOUR part album. They decided to release it without singles, because they wanted people to listen to how they made it, in order. The album in question?
