On January 10, 2023, The Blues Foundation announced its nominees for the 44th annual Blues Music Awards, to be presented on May 11th in Memphis.
John Nemeth leads the nominees with five. There are three nominees behind him with three nominees a piece, they are; Shemekia Copeland, Rory Block, and Eric Gales. Other nominees include, Colin James, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Sugar Ray Rayford, Rhiannon Giddens, Ruthie Foster, Beth Hart, and Kirk Fletcher.
