A Day With…Damsel.

On Friday the 13, of January, I headed down to the Fox Cabaret to spend a day with with Damsel, on show night.

Having many iterations, Damsel has settled with the lineup of original member Kieran Marquis (guitar, vocals), Dani Gottardo (guitar, vocals), Devon Sutherland (drums), Mike Climie (bass), and newest member, Mackenzie Marquis (lead vocals).

They welcomed me as I followed them through soundcheck, through to the end of the night.

Follow the night yourself, below…

Time to Kill

After soundcheck was finished there was still over three hours left before showtime. Instead of hanging around the Fox, the band decided to grab some dinner. So we headed out in search of some grub. The first place we went to was full, so we went searching for another. The Fable Diner ended up being our destination. There, a new friend of the band was made in the form of our server, Mary; even getting a picture with her behind the bar.

On the way back, Damsel ran into a few friends around the corner from the Fox, on the way to the show themselves.

Pre-Show

Eye-liner, hoodies, and warming up.
As the crowd was being primed by both opening bands, Damsel got prepared to take the stage. The anticipation grew, as the 9:40 set time drew closer. It was in this time we stepped out for a quick interview (don’t ask) and a couple portraits. Before long it was time to take the stage.

With the final note and the last cheer, Damsel did what they came to accomplish, giving the crowd a great night of music. It was now time to pack up and head out.

Thanks to Damsel for bringing me along for the rockin’ ride. If you’re wanting to have a rockin’ good time at a show, look no further.

If you liked this, check out my second day with Damsel, from June of 2023. The photo story, and the video are both below.
